

Each decade typically births its own subculture, creating and celebrating new social norms. And in 1979, Virginia artist, writer and director, Tom Shadyac, took that a step further in the UVA Magazine, designing one of the first satirical checklists of pop culture stereotypes — much of which sounds familiar still today.
